ABOUT THE RACE
The inaugural Renewable Energy Cup Charity Yacht Race is an opportunity for the industry and its supporters to get together, meet new people and raise money for a worthy cause.
We have ordered the trophy, booked the venue and arranged the race start at the Middle Harbour Yacht Club at the Spit, Mosman in Sydney for 12 noon Friday 18 October 2019.
There is no sailing experience required, and we will work with you and your colleagues to arrange a boat and a skipper for the day. The boats vary in their capacity, but generally 8 is comfortable. It's a great teambuilding or client embracing opportunity.
The race will take us onto the stunning Sydney Harbour and back again. We will finish the day with dinner on the beach, a few well-deserved drinks, musical entertainment and some fun stories to share.
The event itinerary can be found here.
The Middle Harbour Yacht Club will manage the yacht race event. They will also assist entrants by either matching them up with a boat and skipper from the yacht club or by getting them in touch with one of the preferred yacht charter businesses. It is likely that not all entrants will be supplied a “free” boat for the day, and this normally works on a first come first served basis. If this is the case, there will be an additional cost over and above the entrance fee for the hire of a boat and skipper. More information about the event cost can be found here.
The organisers cannot predict the weather and in the unfortunate case where the race is called off due to safety concerns (high winds and/or thunderstorms) there will be no refunds, however we will endeavour to arrange a good party in lieu of the race.
We have limited boats available for this event so please contact the Renewable Energy Cup Committee to book your place and be a part of this event.
